Awareness Project

Many people have misconceptions about what autism and deafness is and what it is not. One of the key projects for 2026 and 2027 is to increase awareness of autism and deafness in the Kurdish region of Iraq. We have been given the opportunity to go into public schools to share about these with the student, faculty, and staff. These 30 minute presentations include time to familiarize the hearers with these two important differences that people have. Attendees get the opportunity to learn some basic sign language and to ask questions about autism and deafness.

Education Courses

The opportunity to create courses to meet the needs of those in our community. We are offering courses with three areas of learning - Deaf education in Kurdish Sign Language (KuSL), English language instruction, and study skills. Each of the areas meet specific needs to enhance community development opportunities.
